Explore USC 2006, are you going? (Feb 23 - 24)

hey all, i am a trustee scholar at usc and i also was pretty involved in the interview process last year and i will also be a host this next week as well ... if anyone has any questions about the interview process - who the interviewers will be, things to emphasize, the kinds of people who end up getting the scholarships etc. i would be happy to answer all your questions, fijan@usc.edu or via IM Genx1986 (which is also on my profile on this site)

Geez, I just came out of work (from my midnight shift at Leavey) and there are A LOT of scholarship prospects on campus! (at least I assume they are scholarship prospects, cuz campus looks awfully crowded for a Friday morning plus almost everyone has some sort of a fancy outfit on)

Good luck to all scholarship candidates!

do you know anything about the Bac MD program? i was hoping to get advice about the interview. :P

hahaha you're so helpful. thanks! by the way, i was already accepted to berkeley and harvard, so...

So, now that it's over, how was Explore USC 2006?

Was it what you were expecting?
How were your roommate/hosts?
If you were a host, how was your hs guest?
Pros & cons regarding campus culture, classes, professors, people, politics, social scene, dorms, food, etc?

Berkeley Dude,
I bet USC students know enough to use a spell checker before they post a put-down! I am APPALLED by the education Berkeley students receive HaHa.

Berkeley Dude, you said you have an exam. So why don't you get the hell off of the computer and go study instead of bashing other schools.

Haha, don't you love people like Berkeley Dude, who choose to make the most random posts in the most random thread. If he was smart, at least he would have started a new thread...

LMAO, this Berkeley Dude's other posts were pretty lame, everyone just leave this guy in a corner by himself, he'll be fine. He's just jealous because he got rejected from 'SC, so now he is trying to make his redemption......

The interview itself was really good and casual
somehow I was expected to be seated before a PANEL of 3 ppl like in those movies, but we just ended up sitting around a little desk in an office. At least for Marshall anyways.

Look forward to a bunch of info sessions the first day, you wil def. learn alot about ur options... nuff said about those.

The only thing I think could be improved is the evening activity. They only had one planned for us; it was really fun and entertaining, but it was finished by ~8o'clock and it was up to the hosts/prospectives to figure out what to do for the rest of the night.

On friday, I heard that engineering interviewees talking about how they were asked about a particular current event for their interview.
So, just a note for prospective Viterbi students in the next Explore(s), they might or might not do that again

is there anything weird/tricky that marshall does for the interview? should i brush up on current events jenny? also, how long was the interview?

Just curious to hear from Trustee Interview students, if you have received your confirmation, and total Financial Aid package? Thanks.
