4. is USC your first choice?: It's in my group of first-choice schools. (MIT is first, but that's a gods-must-be-crazy-if-they-accept-me reach school. And it's cold there.)
5. why did you apply to USC?: Great engineering school; My dad went there; I did research at the USC/ISI Polymorphic Robotics Lab and liked it there.

just in case you don't know. If you have the National Merit Scholar Finalist you may not want to interview for the Presdiential. Presidential 1/2 tuitaion and Nat'l Merit (1/2 tuition) ar NOT combinable.</p>
<p>yeah, i know they can't be combined - but i figure it can't hurt to go and visit, i'll never get as good an opportunity.</p>

<p>Getting presidential is actually better than national merit, because they are both the same amount, but with presidential you get more university acknowledgement. For example, there is ATPS, and organization for Presidential and trustee scholars that has picnics and t-shirt and stuff.</p>
