I'm here, in SoCal, for explore USC, when I realized...I forgot my check!!

I realize it says that they won't accept cash, but is that really true? If it is, I flew out to SoCal from Florida for nothing.

Whoa! You got into USC and you can't figure out a solution to this one? Take your cash to a bank and get a cashier's check! YIKES! Good luck in college!

Yeah that's what I thought too...Just kind of panicked I guess.

Thanks.

Oh, and I got a presidential scholarship too.

Money market also works for that small amount.

If any of the other potential students are checking in with their parents, you could explain your problem to an understanding parent. You give the parent the cash amount and they write a check on your behalf. Then you save the cashier's check fee.

I did, and it was ok.

I am curious..

You students attended Explore SC. What were your impressions?

My son had a wonderful time at Explore USC and decided to attend. He was impressed with the Engineering school, the Trojan marching band, the school spirit, the nice kids, the dorm, and liked the food.

My daughter was sold as well. We all love the marching band. Apparently some students had already turned in the SIR before the Explore USC.

i i felt the exact same. i loved the engineering school tour where we actually got to individually talk to professors and students

Viterbi Engineering building is new and the equipment was the latest, finest state of the art. My son is happy with the flexibility of the engineering curriculum and likes the team group work. USC wants to make its Engineering school on par with Cal Tech, MIT and Stanford. Everything was positive.

My impressions were good. It was definitely the best planned event that I had been to. It was very useful in getting a feel for the school. I'm still not sure that I will commit, but it seems more likely.

Before going to Explore, I thought USC was out of the picture and that I would eventually choose going to UCLA. heh. wrong.

As an admit to Marshall, the way the department treated all of us (giving us an individualized binder + backpack) made me feel so special. I started asking myself if this is how being at USC is like all the time. I was really almost bought by the fun activities, unlimited fruit and dessert bar, and free goodies. Not to mention, I made three friends at Explore. Within 4 hours. that's a friendly environment.

Plus, getting paired up with a dinner host is soooo helpful. My host took me around with her friends, some who were hosts as well, so I was able to talk to 4 USC students and 3 admits during dinner and for an hour after when they took us to look at the dorms. since the program ended with them, I was able to really get a feel of what it's like to walk around campus, getting from food to home, eating at the cafe, and just hanging out in the dorm.

All I can say is that now I'm having a heck of a hard time deciding between USC and UCLa.

Marshall Business, I heard, is in the top 10 and has a fantastic alumni network for jobs. What is there to think about? Isn't UCLA business school the MBA program?

^^You got backpack?
Anyway, goodluck with your decision, they are both great schools.
