I'm flying in to LAX on Thursday morning from San Jose and will only be landing at around 9:00, which is when the Explore USC session starts. My dad and I have to rent a car and then drive to campus, so we're probably not going to get there before 10. Hopefully, we'll be able to arrive before 10:30.

Do you think we'll be able to join the Explore USC session easily, even though we'll be at least an hour late? For those of you who have been on one of these sessions, will we be missing anything overly important in the first hour? I'm pretty bummed that we're not coming on time but we can't help it because of the flight schedules and such. Thanks for any input!

if I recall, last year the morning was basically coffee/meet & greet and a tour of USC and surrounding neighborhood. Things didn’t really kick in until after the tour. If you log on to your USConnect, I think you’ll find a way to the day’s schedule. (I can’t seem to find it for you.)

You should be fine, but do let them know you’ll be arriving late. The regular check-in table may be gone. I remember my husband arrived late and hooked up with my son and me just fine.

I’m also coming from San Jose but we’re driving there instead

I attended explore 2 weeks ago and the morning is pretty much left free for tours and different panels and discussions, the luncheon and afternoon/evening are the parts where you are welcomed to USC and meet with your academic department and student host. While I enjoyed my morning at explore, it’s pretty much a time when you can do whatever you want. The lunch, afternoon, and evening are the structured and, in my opinion, most important parts
