Explore USC question

Hi everyone

I just had a question about the explore USC program. I'm attending for an interview and since I live pretty close to USC I was wondering if I had to stay overnight. I know it's a good opportunity to meet current students and get a feel of the campus but I'm apprehensive about leaving home and staying with a host and everything since it's only a 20 minute drive. But if I have to stay overnight what are the living accommodations like?

Thanks in advance!

the living accommodation depends on where your host lives, so it can either be a dorm room, a suite room or an apartment. Last year my son stayed in a suite where he and another participant stayed in the living room, one slept on the sofa and one slept on the floor.

You won't know what the living conditions are like until you get there. They could really vary. However, allow me to STRONGLY recommend that you stay on campus. First of all, you won't be alone with the host, there will be at least one other explore kid with you. It really is an essential part of the experience, and the entire program is built around you staying with your host. The hosts are trained to let you get some sleep, so don't feel that you won't be ready for the interview on the next day. Everyone is in the same situation. Go. It's worth it.

Interviewer: "So, how did you enjoy yourself last night?"
nhlerrulez: "...."

Just saying...
