Anybody going to the second program on March 5-6? After getting my RHP stuff, I found out I'm up for the presidential scholarship on the condition of a good interview. I'm wondering if any of the veteran RHPers have advice, etc.?

yeah i'm going to the March 5-6th interview.

Most likely, I will be attending the same interview session. Does anyone know how many people are offered a shot at the Presidential Scholarship? Also, how many people are on each two day session?

i'm like 75% sure im going to the march 5th and 6th. if not that one then the 8th and 9th.

are peoples parents going with them? i told my mom that i wouldnt let her come, but she has been so sad since i got into usc (im the youngest kid and have been the only one at home for a long time now), and i felt really bad- after seeing the "parents agenda" on caravan i told her she could go. she was so excited! haha.

Socks -- Many people bring at least one parent - you will not be the only one! Trust me, your mom will love it. My mom raved about it for weeks afterwards - mingling with other parents and faculty, excellent catered dinner, etc. You will not be with them the whole time - parents get their own agenda. USC does a really great job with the Explore programs.

I'll be there at the March 5-6 days. Lets have a CC get-together :).

pac10baby--now I'm really glad my mom's going! she's the last hurdle to my enrollment at usc, in that she thinks I could "do better." but I'm sure good food can win her over! :-) I can't wait to meet the CC users in person.

I'm going March 5-6!

im for sure going march 5/6. looks like we have a big CC group!

I would come over and say hi...but I have a midterm those days :(

Well...I guess I could drop by anyway, except they're going to have you guys scheduled doing so many different things I would never be able to find you guys! :)

I hope she comes around! RHP is such a special opportunity. There's always the possibility of transferring after one or two years, though I think almost all RHP students stay. I don't know what the statistics are.

The Explore programs are good for the ego! Lots of congratulations on being accepted to a highly selective school, and also props for being among the select few chosen to interview for scholarships. Parents love hearing that stuff - makes them feel good, and validates that they did a decent job as parents. Aside from the good food, I think this program made my mom more comfortable with my decision to go to USC - she felt like I was in good hands and that I would be taken care of. Explore definitely helped win her over, and she is now a very big Trojan fan! No regrets.

Socks, your mom will have a great time. It's just as informative for the parents as it is for the students. And don't worry, you won't be "embarrassed" or anything, you'll hardly see her, and everyone's parents will be there. After all, your parents are trying to decide if it's the best school for you also, and if it financially will work out.

haha, its not my parents decision. i decide what i do, and besides- the $$ accounts are in my name ;-).

glad i won't be seeing her much. oh, and my dad decided to come too, haha. and its only been 2 1/2 months since all three of us went down to USC together.

Is anybody going March 8-9? I feel like I'll be the only one there! All alone...tear.

I hope you guys have an awesome time! I'm going to be on panel a couple times, host overnight, and be there for some interviews, so good luck to everyone! :)

How likely is it of getting a presidential do you think?? in general??

what is anyone wearing for the first day of explore usc. (specifically wat are the girls wearing)
i was thinking about wearing jeans and tennis shoes with a nice shirt but i don't know if that is too casual.

Shoot I was just planning on wearing my favorite t-shirt...I wasn't even concerned with it being nice. I think it's a pretty casual event on the first day...

krnbap617: If you have not got one yet, you won't be getting one. All the Trustee/Presidential scholarships have been awarded (except NMFs).

is there anyone planning to go to Explore USC in april?
