I searched and didn't find a thread exactly like this...

did anyone go to the explore USC program? (http://caravan.esd.usc.edu/exploreusc/Logon.aspx) can anyone who went tell me if it's worth the $40 bux registration fee and time? thanks! :)

I used to be a host for the explore programs. They are pretty informative. First, you get a campus tour, then a presentation about housing and campus life, then you have lunch. After lunch you do things within your admitted department, there are presentations on what the program is like, student panels on the program, etc. Then you go to dinner with your student host and then to an evening concert type thing where some campus groups like songgirls, dance force, SocalVocals(accappella group), and Commedus Interruptus (campus improv group) perform. Its a great chance to get all your questions answered in one shot.

I think it was worth it; also note it includes 3 meals and a T-shirt.

Are you guys talking about an overnight program? because i don't think this one is an overnight one...

Explore USC for the trustee/presidential scholarship finalists was from 11 one morning until 12 the next and involved spending the night in a dorm.

yea, i'm debating whether to do the whole intense explore usc deal or just do a regular tour. my friends who got in immediately nixed the explore usc option... they're just doing their own thing. their logic is that explore usc seems overhyped and is not a program that is likely to portray life at usc very realistically. but that's just their opinion.
