Exploring Universities South Of Us

I am new to posting. I had a couple of questions concerning internships and job availability through some state universities. How difficult would it be to attain internships/jobs through a university(ie:college job fairs) located in New York if attending a state school in Virginia or Maryland? I would be particularly interested in learning about resources available at Towson, or James Madison University if any business major has experience with these schools.

Does anyone have any knowledge of internships or employment in the NYC area after graduation through job fairs, or career services at James Madison University or Towson?

The best thing to do would be to call the Career Services offices at JMU and Towson.

Gadad,

Thanks, I am going to do that. I was hoping that someone attends these schools or knows someone who has. I wanted to here how easy or difficult it may be to land a job at the end of the road if going out of state. That will weigh a great deal in our decisions.

If you don't find some folks on this thread who know the two schools, try looking up the people who've posted on each school's thread under "Alphabetical Listing of Schools."

Good idea. Thank you.

You might also try posting on the parents board. There are lots of people there with kids who are already students at various schools and, in general, they tend to be more reliable with their information.

I do know that UNC Chapel Hill does a fairly good job with internships in NYC for students in certain majors (like journalism).

Thanks Carolyn
