Looking at the OOS acceptance thread from last year, so many kids got in with nearly the exact same stats as me. I really want to get in here so I have no worries when it comes to RD.

Which thread is that?

Well this is very bad news. On the blog Julie posted that 7000 kids applied from OOS. That is a HUGE number. Does anyone know the amount of OOS students that applied EA last year?

Boymom5 - Here is the link:

@UVAorbust, 6517 applied from out of state last year, so it’s not that much of an increase :]

but the increase of applicants is daunting…:/

@uvaorbust, is there a similar thread for in-state applicants? bc i’m in state. thanks!

UVAorBust - Thanks for the link! Looks as though it’s going to be another long day with no update

That means that 7,000 are in-state as well. This number is higher than I had previously thought, for whatever reason. I guess my chances are higher simply because I’m in-state, but these numbers make me nervous too.

@Boymom and UVA. I do refresh the blog many times during the day (as well as this thread) to see if they update anything. I have an iPhone, so I even check it on there (at least once an hour when I’m not in school). This thread helps relax me some, but I’m still extremely anxious to find out what happens! Even if I’m not accepted, at least knowing for certain will make it much better. We have senior projects this week, so that only makes it all worse.

2 days y’alll :)

Can you say triple post :D. Well I’m going to try to take my mind off UNC with some macro studying. Sigh, one of the bonuses of doing well before midterms, is if you go in with a good average you only need a 71.4 to keep an A (well in my case atleast ;)).

My D just texted me from school saying how anxious she’s feeling
I go to church every Wed, so I have a nice, peaceful hour away from electronics. I will say a prayer for all of you!
(Hope that’s ok & doesnt offend anyone.)

Sorry about that. The computer froze up so I hit refresh…and it posted three times

Hey guys, do you happen to know when the admissions results will be posted. Is it sometime in the afternoon?

I’ll be glad when this is all over :)

Wow, that is very kind boymom. Thank you.

@Harambee Nope, none of us know yet. UNC will update the admissions blog when they get more information, and they’ve really done a good job replying to the comments and posting more information.

@Boymom I can imagine that you’re anxious for you daughter. My parents are confident I’ll be accepted (they roll my eyes when I read them the admissions stats), and I can’t imagine how I would be if my mom was anxious with me. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

I’ve been posting on the blog so much lately trying to find out a little more info.

My inquisitiveness will be the death of me but, who here will mail in the acceptance fee as soon as they are accepted? Not on the minute but you get what I mean lol

^Are you talking about the deposit? If I get accepted, I probably won’t mail mine in until late April when I know some of my other decisions.

@carolinahopeful - Thanks. I’ll be on the look out for new announcements
