<p>I'm going to be a senior next school year. Recently around April of my junior year, I was expelled for substance abuse (weed). I finished my junior year at my local public high school and I ended up with about a 3.5 GPA. How badly will my expulsion affect my chances at a decent school?</p>
<p>I’d say that would definitely have a strong negative impact on admissions. However, if you want to get in somewhere good, I’d recommend you discuss your expulsion in either your main common app essay or in a supplement; showing remorse/growth from what happened could go a long way.</p>
