Expulsion from my high school at the mid year of my senior year (At this moment)

Hi everybody. I was caught having tobacco in my dorm room as an second offense and was expelled from my high school. The school has told me that I have finished the grade needed for college apps but now I need to find a high school to complete my diploma. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I am an international student. I have just written my expulsion reason for my colleges. However, I think colleges would most likely deny my application. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW? should I transfer to another high school and complete my senior year and continue my commonapp? or should I go to UK for education? or should I attend a community college and transfer to better uni later?
I applied to bentley, Northeastern, U Michi for EA and Babsons for ED
I have 3.4 GPA and 1960 on SAT

So far, what I think the best for me is to go to community college but is it possible to stop all my early applications now?????

Why do you want to withdraw your applications?

Well first off that seems like a stupid reason for expulsion, but that aside why not apply? I mean you might as well try and then if you get rejected just try elsewhere i.e. UK education or whatever you want.

That is because if I plan to go to cc, I might as well withdraw my application for those colleges. I clicked no to the expulsion history box. Now I have to write the letter (which i have already done, just in case).
Right now, I don’t know if I should go for a new high school (you know if I can’t pass any of my early application, I have to find a new high school before regular decision deadline) or go to the community college? Im looking at De Anza College which can get me to USC or other UC colleges as a year 3 students. I heard two kinds of opinions about community college. One is that its harder to transfer into college from cc and the other one is that, CC (from what i know, the person refers to De Anza) is easy to do well.
Thanks for the reply btw

Send the letter and see what happens in four weeks when decisions are released. This is not the type of offense that is an automatic disqualifier. You are still likely to end up with an acceptance from one school on your list.

However, since I have no high school to attend to at the moment, doesn’t it mean an automatic disqualifier?

What kind of visa do you have? If you have an F-1 visa for the purpose of attending your high school, then when you are expelled you have a limited amount of time before you have to leave the country. It looks to me like you may need an immigration lawyer more than anything else right now!

I have left the country already. Thanks for the concern

Sorry to hear about your expulsion. If that was ordinary tobacco and not marijuana then that is a tough deal. Since you’re not trying to get into Ivies, you should continue on this path and if you have to get your GED as a high school diploma. I’m not sure how you do that from London, but there must be online courses you can take to complete your high school degree.

To me, this is just a bump in your life. Your grades and SATs are fine and going to a community college should be your last result. So you fell of off the horse, learned a tough less … get back on and finish the ride.

Do you think my grades along with my expulsion history can get me into these colleges??

Yes, but not Northeastern, but you should still try, especially if you don’t expect any financial aid. You should also try to get help if you have a nicotine addiction … you want to show that you are in control by the time you get to college and some schools may consider the fact that you had a 2nd offense as a sign you have an addiction or are not in control of cravings. You should also widen your scope of schools. Go on ■■■■■■■■■■ or a similar site to see where else your GPA and SAT scores could land you. Find more safeties and target schools, who may be more lenient on your expulsion.

I have got a high school to accept me now. Mostly likely in January. Do you think things are getting better now?

Give me advise pls

My advice

Write a letter to the Colleges you’ve applied to explaining the expulsion. The worst they do is turn you down.

Definately, 100% go to the new High School.

Find out whether the New High School has a guidance department that can help you now. They may recommend a couple of other schools for you to apply to.

Even if things don’t work out with the schools you’ve already applied to, there are many good colleges that are looking for students even late into the year.

With your stats, I’m sure you’ll get into a good school even with the expulsion.

Thank you for your advises, zephyr15. Do you think I still have a shot for the colleges that I have applied?

In answer to your question, not likely for Northeastern and U of Michigan, but you should add more to your list. Consider some other states schools, as well as other private LAC’s that match your major.
Schools that may be interested in you for your scores are Hartwick, Western New England, Hofstra, Wagner, etc, but you should do a search yourself to narrow it down.
