Expulsion Rate

Hey guys,

No, this thread isn't about me, but I thought it would be interesting to know the expulsion rate at UCSD if anyone knows it. Does anyone know what the expulsion rate would be for first offenses? Especially for things like possession of alcohol while under 21, petty theft ($100), rape, or anything else?

I know I should probably just join the student orgs to find this information out, but the thing is is that it's kind of late to apply. If anyone knows anything and is willing to share, I'd be greatly interested.

did you really ask what the expulsion rate for rape is…as a “first offense”?

I’ve yet to talk to anyone getting expelled for possessing alcohol esp for a first offense, some posts on this board are about visiting the Dean because of petty theft, and…well, I hope the school doesn’t sit around waiting for a second offense of rape to happen before doing anything about it. ._.

If it were me I’d be less worried about expulsion and more worried about permanent criminal charges and jail time…if you google for it you can see a list of number of crimes on campus across the years, though I don’t know how that correlates to expulsion rates.

^truest words.

It takes you two offenses of alcohol possession for the dean to be really mad, but the third they kick you out of dormitory housing (mind you this is one one quarter, i believe). If you get any beyond that im sure that expulsion is an option, and they will most likely think of giving you an MIP (minor in possession) which will revoke your license for a year and can charge you up to $500. If you are caught on campus by a police officer and not a CSO, you would most likely get the MIP right away. If you get any alcohol offenses then you cannot participate in any study abroad, as well, and if you are already in a program they will revoke your acceptance.
