I got a piece of mail from U. Rich yesterday that said the deadline to apply/be eligible for consideration has been moved to Dec. 8th. I couldn’t find anything on their website about it. Should I trust this or still assume it’s a Dec. 1 deadline?
I just got a letter in the mail from UR saying the deadline for Richmond scholars is Dec 8 so I would assume that they have extended the deadline.
It would be on the web site if it was extended.
I’m going to send an email to the admissions office, because I am confused now haha
Two years ago (2013), when I applied, they also extended the deadline when a new version of the common app was released, and notified by email that this was happening. It was also posted on the admissions blog. Given that the common app was revamped again this year, they probably have extended the deadline, but it is odd that nothing online reflects that (the admissions blog, website, and twitter have yet to say anything about the change).
@alison16 Yes, I would definitely email admissions to clarify.
It is now showing extended on their web site. Not sure why some people would get an snail mail earlier. If they hadn’t applied yet, how would Richmond know to send it.
They just answered my email. Confirmed. It’s a little weird. Would they have some sort of motive to do that?
I received a postcard last night (saw it 45 minutes after submitting my app) and an email this morning. Is this a normal thing to do? It seems odd to me that if they were going to extend they chose to notify everyone so late.
Yeah, I just got an email today. I think someone made a mistake and didn’t get this info. out soon enough.
Ours also came yesterday. Perhaps they are trying to increase the number of procrastinators in their scholarship application pool
