I got a letter from dartmouth saying they are willing to extended their deadline to the 21st for me to get my application in. A little weird since they didn't really send me any information like other colleges. Does this mean anything significant?

I received this letter too. By any chance are you African American or a minority?

Yeah, I’m African American.

So am I. I think they’re just trying to encourage black students to apply, notice the letter is sent from “Admissions Outreach.”

I am, and I got the letter too.
Seemed a little weird, too, since I haven’t really gotten info from them, either. Not sure if I actually want to apply anymore, though.

Ya me either the letter was so sketchy. I’m not sure if I wanna go to dartmouth it seems so cold/in middle of nowhere.

This cleared up a mystery for why my son got an extension from Dartmouth. Hispanic! I thought they just could sniff out procrastinators by the moderate gpa/high sat score combination–late homeworks really hurt those grades–and wanted to tell them there was a place for them in the Ivies!

i am african american too but i got reject from dartmouth i spoke to another alumi & they said they didnt like darmouth because it had lack of diversity, she felt the only hispanic there & didnt see black people
