EXTENDED DEADLINES!!! (condensed reference thread)

So a bunch of schools have moved their early admission/decision deadlines from November 1st due to the power outtages in the northeast from the storm.

This thread is a resource to post which schools you know moved their deadlines and to when. This is for those of you who may be lagging behind and are praising this small miracle. BUT MOSTLY it is so that when the other kids finally get their power back on, they can come here and find a bunch of the new deadlines in one place.

So without further ado, post away!

Stonehill College - now November 8
University of Pennsylvania - now November 4

JMU: 11/8
Salve Regina: 11/8
Elon: ED and Gap: 11/7
UVM: 11/4

wow this is really cool. Is this for students across the US? And where should I look to see if my school moved their date back?

^^not rocket science; try the admissions websites or call the admissions offices tomorrow…

U. Maryland - 11/8 - but only for “affected areas” - not clear how they define this

hopefully people don’t try to trick competing applicants by posting wrong dates, but I would hope people wouldn’t go to that length

Harvard moved to 11/4 [Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Freshman Application Process](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/index.html)
but only for affected areas. does that mean if there’s no snow storm in your area, you can still submit on 11/4?

people should post links like lifeisbeautiful9 has done. just for validity purposes.

^^ Ugh, I know it must sound whiny coming from someone not weathering a massive snowstorm but I feel like the time between 11/1 and the submission deadline gives those in the Northeast an advantage; just because they can’t turn it in doesn’t mean they can’t work on their application in the meantime.

to answer lifeisbeautiful9’s question:

EASTERN United States. if you did not get any snow, this doesn’t apply to you. Even if you didn’t get snow but you live on the east, you should try to submit by 11/1

We shouldn’t be procrastinating anyway, either way.

Does anyone know about Hopkins?

Consolidated List in Order by Date:

University of Pennsylvania - now November 4
UVM: 11/4
Harvard:11/4
Stonehill College - now November 8
MIT: 11/6
Elon: ED and Gap: 11/7
JMU: 11/8
Salve Regina: 11/8

MIT is 11/6!? can anyone provide links from the schools’ website when they add dates???

EDIT: All of these dates are for AFFECTED students only.

U of Penn seems to be everyone:

http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/applying/incoming.php</a></p>

@CPUscientist3000 no, actually some of them seem to just be for everyone. I tdepends on the school. Check their websites (hopefully people could provide links to exactly where they got the info) to see if it is for everyone or just affected kids.

And either way, we should still keep this thread going for those who are actually impacted. If we have the knowledge to help, we should share it. :)

@CPU scientist: Thanks you’re right. I’m a little behind but I guess I’ll try to catch up :)

Dartmouth: doesn’t say date, only that it can be extended:

[Apply to Dartmouth](<a href=“Apply to Dartmouth | Dartmouth Admissions”>Apply to Dartmouth | Dartmouth Admissions)

MIT is only if you were affected, like Harvard. mitadmissions.org

I hope everyone would do the moral thing and submit on time.
I don’t see a critical reason why so many would wait this long.
