I’ve received an email from Haverford offering me a place on the extended waiting list. I’m an international student with financial need, so I’m a bit confused seeing Haverford’s policies. Do I have any chance of being admitted? Why would they offer me this place taking into account my financial need? I would accept in a heartbeat, however. (I have sent the deposit to my probable college option, but I definitely prefer Haverford). Thanks!
I’m also on the extended waitlist but I’m a domestic applicant. I can’t find much information out there on their extended waitlist but I agree with you, they wouldn’t offer you the spot if you didn’t have a chance. So keep on hoping!
@erroneous45 Did you apply to any ivy league schools? If so which ones and do you mind listing your acceptances/rejections?
@YoohooAddict I did apply to a few of them but was rejected. Also, just wanted to update this post if someone else ever finds themselves in a situation like this - I got in! They offered me decent aid, quantitatively actually more than the college that I was going to attend, yet since it’s more expensive overall my parents do have to contribute a little more than before. Nonetheless, very unexpected turn of events, yet I am very psyched to be joining their class of 2020!
Congrats!! that’s awesome! When did you hear back?
Thank you, @admitmemaybe ! Yesterday morning, via email
That’s wonderful, I hope you have an amazing time @erroneous45 . Just got my “sorry but no” email but it’s all for the better, I registered for classes two days ago and decided I was too invested in my school to change to Haverford at this point. Good job everyone
