Extenuating Circumstances

Hey I am very interested to know whether Johns Hopkins University strongly considers extenuating circumstances. This last yr for me has been one uphill battle. As I mentioned in my other posts my father first lost his job in january of 2005 and then had kidney failure in September of the same yr. Consistently through all this I have trying my level best to maintain my grades and test scores, but these efforts have been futile. The overwhelming stress, coupled with my responsibility to take care of my father and the household finances( have taken 3 jobs) has been enormous. Do you think admissions officers will take this situation into consideration when making their admissions decision? I truly love Johns Hopkins and feel that I can truly thrive there if given the chance. Thanks

WoW..man I sort of feel what your going through because my dad was laid off for about two months this year..I am sure that they will give a serious look at this, but if you really did take 3 jobs to financially support yourself and your dad, it will look evry good on the responsibility and maturity section....If your stats aren't "too" bad you should definitely get in, especially if you write your essay around it.

Hope everything gets better you. Best of luck.

If you wrote about all of this I'm sure they will take it into consideration.

bumppppppp

The adcoms at Hopkins take everything into account. If you included this information in your application than it will be considered.
