One of the requirements for admission is 30 completed(or in progress) hours of coursework. I have currently applied for the fall with 27 hours of coursework and on my application status it asks that I have to send in my Spring 2014 coursework before my admission decision is made. Because i only need 3 more hours to fulfill the requirement, does the University ever give a preliminary yes or no to applicants who show coursework in progress? Also is there a possibility that they will review my application before they see all 30 hours of coursework?

No. They won’t look at your application until you reach 30 hours.Even if you are at 29 hours you still have to send in a second transcript saying you are in progress of reaching 30 hours by the end of the semester.

What about AP credits, do they count towards the 30 required?

I talked to the UT counselors about this and they said that as long as your transcript shows that you’ve completed the course you’re AP credits have given you, then they should count.

You would have to claim the AP credits at your old college first I believe. If, once you claim them, you have 30 hours you are good. But if you have say 27 hours and an AP credit that you have not claimed then no, it won’t count. You have to claim the AP credit and they have to show credit for the course.
