Extra Courses

If you took like 3-4 more courses than you need to graduate how would that be considered?

The 3-4 are within the 4 year high school time frame and are high school courses

At my h.s. at least it is sort of expected. The focus is not on how far above the graduation requirements you went but how difficult your courses were, relative to the school's offerings.

It would not be viewed as anything exceptional. Many public high schools have fairly minimal graduation requirements. Often, the requirements for admission to selective schools require you to take more than is needed to graduate. Also, kids who are extremely interested in a certain class take well beyond what is even required by the college. So it will not make you stand out or anything.
