Extra-curricular class things?

I remember about a year ago my friend showed me some website that described an informal Japanese class that took place at a Cal park somewhere. I’m pretty sure it was pretty inexpensive, but that’s not very important. I talked to my friend about it today, but he didn’t remember it at all. I’m curious - am I making this up? If I’m not, are they common? Is there any website where I can see a list of all available courses like this?

It was probably a DeCal class. They are classes taught by Cal students and are not graded. They are useally good for one unit, but some have and option for two. Some of the popular classes are Philosophy of the Simpsons, hip-hop dance, movies of the coen bros., and so many more. I would advise anyone to take a decal as a way to round out your scedule without having to add a full-on class.

Doesn't grading get a bit subjective?

What do you mean? There is no grading.
