Hey guys im interested in going into the medicine field. I want to go to a good undergraduate college but i dont have good extra curriculars that are medical related. Besides shadowing, research, and volunteering at hospital what other extra curriuclars should i do that is medically related. Thanks a lot in advance

Truthfully you probably do a lot more medical extra curriculars than most people. Shadowing, research and volunteering is a lot. I don’t know if there is a lot more you can do. At my school they had a program that taught you basic EMT work. You have awesome extra curriculars.

when i do research, what competitions are there so i can enter and win?

I don’t know if they have it at your school but there is a club called HOSA- health occupation students of America. They compete in medical competitions in a variety of areas like vocabulary and then there’s actual skills areas where you show how well you can do medical things and there’s a medical math category and more. If there isn’t a HOSA club at your school try starting one! It’ll probably have a pretty good turn out if the students at your school are somewhat motivated. The club at my school is really big.
