I am an engineer with 10 years of experience in the technology field looking to apply to b schools.

My ECs include an officer position in the local chapter of a well known worldwide technology association and a non-profit work.

I want to build my ECs in my areas of interest well for future school applications. Since I do not want to do any full-time volunteer work (such as peace corp) but only want to build solid EC profile (in the areas I care about), what is a good way to find out about EC opportunities?

Teach-for-america, americorp etc are not possible due to a full-time commitment, but I want to know some typical examples of good examples of EC leadership positions represented at topmost american schools (I suspect many undegrad applicants' ECs can be similar in nature to other programs at such schools).

I looked at volunteermatch but that has mostly entry-level volunteer positions and not many with the ones that are internationally known.

How does one work to get to a EC position that is leadership oriented (such as president of a program at a non-profit's local branch) and how do well known places ( united way, for example) fill these positions?
