Extra curriculars?

My mom homeschools me and I have 2 years of school left so what can I do for extra curricular to get into a good school (UChicago NYU UCL London)?

It will be hard to get into UChicago and NYU as a homeschooler, since it’s hard to get into them for public school and private school kids. What do you do now and what have you done? Are you involved with sports or music? Maybe Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts? It’s great to have some type of community service, volunteering or church involvement as well.

See if you can play sports or participate in clubs at your local high school.

I know of a homeschooled student who is a sophomore at UChicago. She was admitted having pursued the things she liked. She was involved in horseback riding and spent a lot of time at the stables. She worked as a physics tutor. She is a very strong student. She dual enrolled at a university and had science, foreign lang, and English credits.

Homeschoolers do not need to follow the same path as public school students. Use homeschooling to your advantage and allow your interests to shine.

you do need to be aware that every university has their own requirements, so you need to investigate school by school what they require. Plan for SAT subject tests, etc.

I’m at school in England and got an offer from Oxford and honestly, UK unis don’t care about extra curriculars. They care a lot more that you read around your subject, eg if you’re applying for Economics, what have you done to do with econ outside of lessons? gone to seminars, lectures, read books etc etc.
