Extra Curriculars

What are some of the best ecs that you can think of. I want stuff that will really have me noticed by colleges.

Don’t do EC’s that will look good for colleges. Do EC’s that you enjoy; I cannot stress this enough. If you do EC’s that you don’t enjoy as much, you are less likely to rise up the ranks and become a leader in that club or less likely to be involved in it. If you do EC’s that you enjoy you are more likely to be heavily involved, become a leader, and maybe even write about it in your essays or a teacher mentions it in a recommendation.

Volunteer clubs, fine arts (drawing, music?) and the academic teams (Spell Bowl, Academic Super Bowl, etc.)
I agree with EKolin; do what you enjoy. You’re more likely to be involved if you enjoy it.
Being well-rounded helps too, and my advice is not to overload your schedule with too many extra-curriculars like I did (lol).

EC related to major. Hospital volunteer for med and working at tech companies such as Lutron for electrical engineering.

If your goal is to be well rounded, a sport is always good coupled with some volunteer work and maybe a job or academic organization. Beyond that, you should join clubs that exite you and make you do impressive things. With those things your ec’s will be good, but if you’re desperate to get noticed join clubs where you can get awards or compete.

Agree with others. Find something you enjoy and work that into what you may want to major in. You can search on volunteer opportunities in your area or speak with your school counselor. Also depending on what schools you want to go to, many like to see an emphasis on a smaller number of EC’s. You could sign up in a few clubs, a sport, or band…see what interests you, and then stick with those. As time goes on, look to become an officer, captain, etc. Keep in mind, grades take priority, you don’t want to sacrifice grades as colleges will first look at grades and strength of your courses. Best wishes!
