Extra-Curriculars

I'm trying to transfer from community college to UT. About how many extra-curricular, clubs, work experience should one list?

Right now I'm NOT involved in anything but eventually plan on joining 4-6 in school clubs, 3-5 extra-curriculars, 2-3 jobs. Sound good?

Just in general with colleges, try not to overpack your resume. Focus on a few things within your interests and show that your pursuits have depth and longevity. They’re going to know if you have an overload of extracurriculars that chances are that you’re not very dedicated to any of them. I think a few, meaningful activities that you devote a good chunk of time to should be just right.
Hope this helps. Good luck. :)

They don’t make much of a difference in transfer admissions. By and large it is based on your GPA.

Yeah I know but shouldn’t I do it just in case, so I have higher chances?

4-6 in school clubs, 3-5 extra-curriculars, 2-3 jobs while in college? I would think doing well and taking on leadership roles in 1-2 clubs, 1-2 extra-curriculars, and 1 job would be more impressive. Don’t spread yourself too thin.

Yeah that would defiantly be easier for me. I just used those numbers because they would be spread over a 1-2 year period.

I think I’ll join 2-3 clubs, 2 extra-curriculars, and 1 job until I transfer in 1-2 years.

Also, should these be related to my major or just be random things that I’m interested in?
