I know a lot of these posts deal with the quality of your in ECs, so I was just hoping that everyone could tell me what I could do to make my ECs go from good to outstanding. I'm planning on applying to some of the most selective schools. Currently I'm a junior in high school. I have good grades (3.9 unweighted GPA) and pretty good ACT scores (34). I have yet to take the SAT.

Anway, here's a description of my ECs

President of buildOn, an organization that raises money to build schools in third world countries, I've planned numerous fundraising events and in total have raised over 4,000 dollars. My goal is $10,000 before I graduate. The club is also very service oriented. I've participated in so many types of service through buildOn from answering phones for PBS to Gleaners Food Bank to helped at the Veterans Centern Detroit. This summer I plan to join the Lead Team which has just been created.

I've participated in Forensics public speaking for 5 years. I've been a state finalist and campion.

Participated in Model Un for 3 years. Hope to run for an officer position.

Classical Indian Dance for 10 years, currently training for my debut performance

I volunteer at a local hospital. I'm very interested in medical research and read up on it a lot, but I've never really had any experience with it. I'm looking for an opportunity to get my involved in it, but so far have come up with nothing.

Well thats all I can think of as of now. I'd just like to know how I can get more invovled in these things to make them outstanding ECs. Thanks!
