Ok this may seem like a daft one. I'm an international student and i wanna know how certificates of achievement in extra-curriculars are submitted to universities. As in what part of the app are they supposed to be attached to/sent with??? Thanx.

You don’t need to submit proof of your ECs.

Are u sure??? Then how do colleges verify??? I mean, then anybody could go and say they’ve done truckloads of stuff. How will colleges know???

Certain colleges pick out apps at random and contact the student to provide proof of ECs, but if they don’t specify on the app, you are not expected to provide proof. (Unless you think certain forms of proof will add to your apps - such as a letter of rec from a coach, a musical/art supplement, etc.)

Yep… anybody COULD say they’ve done a ton of stuff.

But in my opinion, the college application process if about finding the right college for you, not necessarily just the best. So if you inflate your application, you are lying to yourself.

Ok so here’s my problem. I have national-level quizzing certificates and a high commendation certificate which I won at my school’s annual inter-school MUN. Should I send these???

If you won national-level recognition in any competition be sure to highlight it in your application. I don’t think sending the certificates may be necessary unless they specifically request proof, which they sometimes do.

You do not have to submit proof of ECs. Honestly.
