Extra letter of recommendation?

Right now I have one letter of recommendation from a teacher and have confirmed a second letter writer for a second letter. For the first letter, I know it is a great letter because the teacher showed it to me. For two of the safety schools I am applying to that I am 97% sure I will be accepted to, they only require one letter, so my question is should I send a second letter and risk that it is not as good of a letter, or should I just send the one that I know is good?

Send the one you know is good. Why take chances?

The only reason I can think of is in case the second letter is better. It could be, and the teacher has more experience writing letters of recommendation, but you never know.

Don’t overthink this.

You know the letter you have in hand is very strong.

You feel very confident that you will be admitted to the safeties that require only one teacher letter.

Leave well enough alone. What benefit would there be in sending a second letter? It’s not as if they’ll admit you twice, right?

That makes sense.

Right now I have the chance to suggest changes to the letter of recommendation. Is there anything that you recommend be included in it?
