Hypothetical question:
Getting admitted to Georgetown is a longshot. My GPA is 3.9 weighted.
My extracurriculars kick butt and I attended a summer program at Georgetown hosted by Georgetown. Not one of those LEAD things that simply take place at Georgetown.

I have OK test scores
Read: 560 Math: 550 Writing: 630
And plan to retake them this oct. I also am registered to take the ACT in Sept.

My family physician was a former professor at Georgetown and gave med students internships for many years. Now he is the chief medical officer at an area hospital.

If he were to write a letter to the office of admissions in my favor; how much/ would it help me at all?

I realize it's a reach x10 but I have my fingers crossed. I applied early action...
