I've read on a few threads on CC that before you enroll you can request extra money so that you could attend...Does any of this have truth?

I got a significant increase in my aid offer by telling CMU my offer from another school.

Would you mind telling me about how much significantly is? Depending on how much I can get will determine whether I can attend or not…

Does it matter what school the money is from? Does it have to be like a top school or something?

It’s not a simple “request”.
You need to have competing offers from peer institutions as is already discussed in other threads.
Your offer is NOT going to exceed your Unmet need.
Fill out the forms and submit the information to admissions if you have these.

Thanks I was just wondering. I saw the other threads but they did not provide enough information for me to take action. Where can I find these forms?

If you didn’t receive the form to request a re review of your financial aid with your packet, contact financial aid and have them mail you one. You will need to send a letter explaining why you wish to have your award re evaluated and attach offer letters from other colleges.
