extra pounds

I couldn't run 5 miles if I tried. I just go for mile runs on the school track (live at a residential high school) and weight room to hopefully get more muscle on my arms once the jigglyness goes away.

I haven't gained any weight since last year, despite this year's college apps and workload had reduced my daily exercise to zil. I use to have that craving for sweets as well, and it's deadly if you're trying to stay fit. I'd say either do something that'll keep you fully occupied that you can't reach out for food (like read, or even IM), or just pop in a chewing gum to get the feeling of eating without actually taking in calories.

Since your college applications are complete can't you exercise again? And chewing gum still releases sugar in solution.

gum only has 10 calories, and if one consumes 3 a day, it's only 30 calories in total. I'd say a 1000 calorie diet per day is a good amount to stay fit.

I don't exercise much because I've often found more enjoyable things to do, like reading or writing. Since I'm not a guy, I don't have to worry about building muscle mass either. In fact, I don't really want to have six pack abs or anything bulky.

I've gained like 5 pounds in the past year....it's definitely because I eat too much sugar. I'm holding steady/losing, but I should start working out a little more, especially before prom and before college. My brother said one of his friends went beyond the Freshman 15 - more like the Freshman 50. I do not want that to happen to me!
