My theatre and foreign language teachers are willing to send their extra recommendation letters by email to the admission committees (I uploaded already the recommendation letters from my other teachers) should I accept that offer or is it just annoying for the colleges?
Generally only one extra rec is allowed. Unless you are confident these other recs shed new light on you and provide some insight the other recs can’t, I wouldn’t send them. And I definitely would not send two.
I had a rep explain once that they really don’t see it as anything special for a kid to have a ton of recommendation letters. They said they even had one kid submit 15 once before they limited how many they took. The explanation they gave for this was that after awhile people are saying the same things and it is more so a waste of time for them to read a ton. I’m sure if one of those extra letters is stellar they would accept it, but if you think the letters you already submitted represent you well enough it’s probably not the best choice. Good luck with your applications!
Agree with @Lindagaf At most send only one more LOR and only send the additional letter if you are confident that it will give meaningful information about you that won’t be a part of your other teacher rec letters. Extra letters saying basically the same thing will not be regarded as a positive in your application.
