Harvard asks me to send a counselor recommendation and 2 teacher recommendations

If a politician, lets say the major of my city or the governor of my state write me a recommendation letter, is it going to help in my admission?

If you send additional, positive recommendations from people who know you well, they will help.

But make sure the letter is personal.

(Chances are, the mayor or governor does not know you that well. And that really seems like your pandering. An admissions officer will not be impressed to get a generic recommendation with a stamped signature.)

Ok ill make sure if i do ask some government official to fill a recommendation to make it personal, because its true they may not know me so well.
