extra resume

I sent in all my applications already. Now I am hearing that you should have an additional sheet that should explain all your extracurriculars. Should this be necessary? I also hear that this might be too much info and just stick with the activities section on the application.
And if I should send an additional sheet, how should I send it to all my schools that I have applied to already?

No. It is by no means necessary. In fact, many colleges outright ask that you not, and many counselors suggest that you stick to the space given. There’s a reason they have limited space. They want you to choose a few key activities and awards, not every single thing you have. Many admissions committees have neither the time nor the patience to go through more information.

It’s definitely not necessary, but in some cases it can help. Though I agree that it depends on the school. There are some that specifically tell you not to send in anything “extra”, while some tell you they welcome any material that will tell them more about yourself. My suggestion is to check on the schools’ websites. Even if you already sent in your applications if you find that one of your schools welcomes extra info you can always send it in and they will add to you existing file.
