I am in-state and I applied on November 29th (I only wanted to go to CofC back then, so I didn’t apply before 15th) so I guess I can’t be considered for Top Scholars’ scholarships, but are there are any institutional or departmental scholarships I am still eligible for? I am really bummed out I wasn’t smart enough to apply early. I have a low ACT and I don’t know if I can take it in time to still be considered.
GPA: 4.474 weighted, 3.65 unweighted.
Rank: Top 10% of my class of 557
ACT: 24 (Low, I know)
I know I’m ignorant on a lot of this information, so I am really thankful for any help.
If you got your application in before regular December deadline you are eligible for all the scholarships except the Top Scholars (which are only open to those that fill out Honors College application), but all the other instate are possible based solely on grades/test scores. Look at the scholarship tab to see what the approximate numbers are, but yes your ACT may hurt you there.
Call and ask if you can still retest and have that considered but may be too late.
You should get the Life scholarship from SC Lottery system, right? There are departmental scholarships available but mostly not for freshmen - again, that info is on-line. Now there is money is you are in Marching Band if that applies.
