I am a senior and received an LSAT score of 143. I have a low GPA of 2.5 (because of being diagnosed with ADD my senior year of college and going through a depression my sophomore year). With having a low GPA and low LSAT score I was wondering about opinions of doing an extra semester towards my undergraduate degree which would get me to graduate in Dec 2015 with two majors, political science and criminology and a possible minor in pre-law. If i graduate May 2015 I would only be a political science major and criminology minor. I figured that the extra semester would give me a chance to boost my GPA. Please be brutally honest. Im not certain on what to do.
One extra semester will not substantially boost your GPA, and coupled with that LSAT score, it will keep you out of any reputable law school. You might want to start considering other possibilities than law.
since you asked for “brutally honest”…do NOT go to law school.
I agree with the above. Cut your losses and focus on getting a job. More school will not be to your advantage.
Here’s my advice: start working at Target or Home Depot as an executive management trainee in its loss prevention department. With your criminology major and college degree, you’ll get hired. I guarantee in ten years you’ll be making a nice salary in that field (>$60k), which is growing tremendously.
