I have a student who has been granted extra time on the ACT (2X). He took the test this past Saturday (retest from the Blizzard) and the proctor stopped the room at 2X on each section, not as had been administered in the past (2X the entire test)........

unless something has changed, I think this is incorrect?

I tried to call ACT but they are closed today......I will try tomorrow but wanted to ask the wise ones on CC

My friend has 1.5x time, and he just had one long test. I wouldn’t contact the ACT though because wouldn’t they require the student to retake the test? Maybe you should contact them if he/she scored poorly.

Actually, this is his first test…and will probably take it again if he didn’t hit his target…but very annoying…

Not sure ACT can do anything about it but they should know that this particular test center administered the test incorrectly so it doesn’t happen again…

Last year it was as you described it should be (2X the entire test, no specific breaks for each section, students just go on as they are ready). You do need to call ACT about this… even if he hits the mark, it seems like the results could be called into question later because they did not follow the rules.

Testing organizations (College Board, ACT, etc.) sometimes allow extra time for students with disabilities for their tests. The amount of extra time can vary. Common amounts are 1.5 (so the student gets 1.5 times the normal test length) and 2 (so twice as long).
