Extra Time should be sent to colleges

I always have thought that colleges should be informed about extra time. You don't get extra time in college, and the SAT's are designed to figure out how well you will handle college work. Colleges should know who they are accepting. It's not fair to people without disabilities and it promotes fraud. Dishonest shrinks are writing notes left and right at my school. Kids with nothing wrong with them are taking extra time.

I admit, I get a bit peeved when someone with 1.5 or 2x time does really well. I feel like I earned it more with the time pressure. I ended up with a 2320, but I could get a 2400 without any effort with extra time.

thoughts?

I don't care. How does one go about attaining extra time? I don't think I'd qualify, but I get this thing where I am super distracted on the reading to the point where i don't finish because i have to reread everything minimum five times. it's not a disability, but it sure is detrimental to my score.

People get a note from a psychologist that says they have some sort of disability that merits extra time. I never knew there were so many closet dyslexics at my school lol.

I agree.

I have friends who all get extra time with most being certified by doctors of questionable origins.

We have a sort of learning disability that runs in the family where you can talk things through and seem really smart but as soon as you have to read and write it slows down. We cant write as fast as we think. [Documented IQ differential in family members in writing/talking, sorry I can not be more specific].

This is genetic I guess but my cousin got diagnosed and received a super high SAT (2300+) with extra time.

Due to my parents believing it is unethical for pretty much the reasons you listed. I will not even be tested for something I'm pretty sure I have. Knowing that I already do pretty well anyway even though I get sidetracked and let my thoughts wander and have to rethink things 10 times before I answer them (Timed essays are a real hassle) gives me a sense of confidence. That I can break 2000 the first time and with the proper practice 2250 or higher (my goal) after grueling practice leads me to believe that I will be better because of it.

Sure it may be nice to get into an Ivy now because of a doctors note...But it's sure going to suck later when you flunk your midterms because you cant get double time to think things through.
