Extracurricular Activities Boost?

I am a junior right now in high school, just wondering if there is anything I can do to boost my extracurricular activities between now and when i apply to college. I will be pretty busy during the summer with research and whatnot, but is there anything online (<-- haha) or any programs I can attend which could be recognized by colleges?

I live on Long Island,NY, if that helps

Extracurricular activities literally means activities outside of school, do things that intrest you, but still have some sort of educational or moral value. I love art, drama, reading and writing, and being creative, I joined my schools art and drama club, and go to my downtown library’s writing club, and have been since I was a freshmen.

And from personal experience, a large extracurricular activity that lasts for a long time rather than a bunch of small extracurricular activities stacked on looks better, because it shows devotion.

EDIT: And these were the things I did in my “free time” Becuase they intrested me and they were actually fun. Try to find things that you wouldn’t mind sacrificing non-studying time for.

Research is an extracurricular, in the sense that it’s done outside of (extra) your schoolwork (curricular).

I hate to say it but you should be getting into extracurricular stuff because you’re passionate about it not just for college. It really sucks to be doing something that you aren’t passionate about just for college and a lot of admissions officers can see right through app padding activities. I suggest finding something you like and achieving some sort of leadership in it. UTILIZE YOUR SUMMER! Best of luck!

your research will count though colleges will like that :)

There’s really not much you can do adding wise.
Procrastination through middle school and first two years of high school really comes back to bite your rear end at junior year.

Almost always, you won’t be able to really any strong EC boost in your junior/senior year.
College Admission officials aren’t stupid. They will see right through your effort to cram in additional “good looking” ECs at the last minute.
