Are there any good schools that dont require leadership positions in EC.

no school requires leadership positions in EC. Most schools don’t even care about ECs. If your definition of “good schools” means very selective schools then they do care about ECs. But for strong ECs they are looking for leadership or accomplishment.

Well I mean not require a leadership position, but a well known school that doesnt expect to see leadership positions in the apps.

The question you’re asking really can’t be answered. Just stick to the obvious : leadership positions = good, no leadership positions = bad. I really don’t think colleges post admission info regarding leadership.

Most of the large state schools are more about statistics and numbers rather than the fluffy stuff like EC’s and Leadership. The liberal arts colleges all go for that stuff though, just depends on where you want to go and what you want to do

No school, even HYPMS, requires a leadership position - what the most selective schools want to see is outstanding achievement. If you are an Olympic level skater, they do not care that you have never been president of the Spanish Club. If you performed your original piano compositions in Carnegie Hall, it is not necessary to be the editor of the school paper. If you are running your own highly profitable on-line business, they don’t care that you aren’t president of the school’s business club. Even less glorious but still significant achievements - extensive community service hours as a firefighter, working in a research lab and publishing something, working in the family business 20 hrs/week - will still be eye-catching. Having minions is not and never has been a requirement for admission.

Of course, if you don’t have outstanding achievements, then the usual school club presidencies is one way to show selective schools that you’ve been using your time productively after school.
