I'm an incoming freshmen to UIUC, and on paper, I'm coming in as undecided, but pretty much sure that I want to become an architect. I know architect students have little time for anything else.

Outside of school and studying, the only other two activities I'm planning is to get a job and weight lift.

Lol, as a freshman, and quite possible as a sophmore (I know a lot of kids who took big course loads freshman year and regretted it. They are now taking light fall semesters as sophmores lol) you will have time for a LOT of things.

To offer you a little insight as my freshman year ends, I had a lot of free time. Obviously I could of studied more (and should have :)), but even the most studious of people had lots of time. As for the job, I tried getting one first semester, but it all revolves around your schedule.

As for weightlifting, apply for housing at the six-pack. There are two main gyms, IMPE and CERCE. Do NOT let anyone tell you CERCE is good for weightlifting (also, unrelated, PAR and FAR are extremely far away from the main campus). IMPE is awsome; lots of equipment.

In terms of living options, I'm more concern with the meal plans than the gym, because there 3 recreation centers on campus as far as I know. I opted for Europa-House because there is no meal plans. You are suppose to cook your own food. I doubt the meals offered by the halls have the nutritions that a weight lifter needs.

Lol I totally overlooked private housing. The stupid link has almost no info on it for Europa house. HOw much are you going to be paying next year?

Fees are around 2000
Tuitions are around 8000
And Europa House is about 5000: about 4400 on rent, the rest a phone, cable, internet, and utility bills.

What is the suggest number of clubs you can join and keep a good GPA? I really want my GPA to be high, but I also want to get involved. I'm afraid that if I get too involved, then my studies will go down. So, is there a good number of EA you can limit yourself to?
