Extracurricular Activities

Ok Im a Junior in High School, and I feel as if Im low on EC's. Im going to be applying to ivy league colleges.

So far my EC's are

Math Club
Newspaper Club
Debate Team
NHS

I am not the president or vice president or any of that in any of these clubs. For leadership I dont really have much. I want to add some sort of research activity to this list so I was wondering if anyone knows how I go about researching.

I live in MA and I dont know how i find researching opportunities. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

So basically Im asking all of you people who did research, how you got the opportunity to do so, and How i should embark on it.

Some recommendations for places to research: Galegroup, LexisNexis, Pubmed. All are GREAT resources if you want to do some research. There is also a lot of research to be done at the library. Just make sure to cite your sources. Or you can use Wikipedia, though I think most institutions frown upon it.

I hope this 1 paragraph guide has helped you get started on your research! Best of luck! :)

Sorry for the mild detour, but would reading that post by newest_newb be a form of research?

What kind of research do students do to get into top colleges? Like usually its related to science correct? They perform experiments and stuff like that right?

If someone who has actually done research like that plz tell me how i go about doing it, i would greatly appreciate it
