I'm a senior. I did the school play and really really enjoyed it last year, but this year because of serious conflicts I'm not able to participate again. :( Is it worth even mentioning on the Common App? I put theatre as one of my interests for most college supplements and I loved it! Then again, I had a minor part that's not amazing at all compared to most other kids. What do you think?

Use the ECs where you have significant accomplishments, or have leadership experience, or that provide community service. Thats the big three. Order the ECs from best to last using that criteria.

If you are interested in doing theatre in college and are not a drama major check your schools to see what oportunities they have. Some are more exclusive than others about letting non-theatre majors into their productions.

Use the ECs that describe your interests, your passions and who you are. Don’t worry about how they might (or might not) be perceived by complete strangers (adcoms).

Based on your posting, it sounds like the play impacted you and changed you in important ways. I would encourage you to include it.

Thanks! You guys are really helpful!
