Do I need to fill it out or can I leave that page blank? I am gonna apply to UT Austin for next fall (2009) as a transfer applicant. I don't have any extracurricular activities and I don't know if it will be a downfall for my admission.

I never filled it out and I got in. YMMV however.

What grades did you guys have?

I’m also planning on transferring. I’m shooting for a 4.0 with a couple of extra-curriculars and clubs.

I transferred in with a 4.0.

How many hours? What school did you transfer into?(liberal arts, business, etc.)

Right now I’ve got a 4.0 but wont transfer for at least one more year.

my GPA is 3.5 with 45 hours and i want to transfer to liberal arts

If it was me and I had a 3.5, I would defiantly NOT leave that section blank. Extra-curriculars and clubs could be the deciding factor for transfers with that kind of GPA.

can i fill out the things that i did in high school or do they not care about high school anymore?

I’m not sure, I haven’t applied yet. You might be able to fill in 11-12th activities in high school and Freshman and Sophomore activities in college.

leeznon

I had 30 hours when I transferred in, and I am in Natural Science. I wasn’t going to transfer in until after my second year but I decided to give it a shot. If I didn’t get accepted, I would just wait a year and do it when I originally planned.

If you have a year left before you do transfer, find some activities to use for that section just to be safe.

I also have a 3.5 and will end up with 37 hours by the time I transfer (Fall 09).

Honestly, I only have time for ECs on the weekends.
This semester I’m planning on volunteering at the Goodwill computer museum and Town Lake Animal Shelter.
I hope that’s enough because I have to work to pay bills :P

Isn’t work experience a plus?

FYI, a dude in this forum got into Natural Science with a 3.2 from a community college.

Has anyone finished the app. essays yet?

I don’t take my classes at the main CC campus, I actually have never been to the main campus, so I don’t even get to join any of the clubs. I plan on leaving that page blank as well.

I had activities in high school but I don’t think you are allowed to put that on there on the application.

ECs don’t matter much in Transfer anyway, and I do have a job so it’s not like I am doing nothing, but it does worry me a little bit putting that page blank.

“I had activities in high school but I don’t think you are allowed to put that on there on the application.”

Is there any info. about this in the UT website?

I’m a transfer applicant with a 3.75 gpa applying to liberal arts. I included high school extracuriculars because it was only like 1-2 years ago and I had some pretty good stuff in it, including an internship I did at an insurance agency, so I definitely wasn’t going to miss including that, plus writing contests I was a finalist in. but even though I did include them, I was confused what “year” to include it under since I think that app. means college years, like fresh/soph/jr/sr. I just put the check next to when I did it in high school.

So the ECs from HS should only be from 11th and 12th grade?

I mean, do most students have ECs during college?
I thought it was more of a “work and go to school” kind of thing.
But maybe I’m generalizing…
