Extracurricular

Hi CC,

I am going to be switching schools in between my sophomore and junior year of high school. The new school I am going to go to offers a sport (rowing) that was not previously offered to me at my old school. I do have a bit of out of school rowing experience, despite not having a chance to row at my school during freshman/sophomore year. Will colleges see this extracurricular as “less valid” if I start my junior year, even if I were to make the varsity, because it isn’t a 4-year plus sport? Thanks!

Not sure why this is in the MIT forum but w/e…

No, or I don’t think so at least. Why would they expect you to play a sport for 4 years when it wasn’t offered at your old school?

Sorry, I didn’t realize I was posting in the MIT forum (I’m a CC Noob), I guess I was looking at another post in the forum when I typed this out, sorry. But about what you said, that is what I figured, but I was also a little thrown off by the whole “four years looks better” thing. Sorry about posting it in this forum, but thanks for your input!
