Extracurriculars: Am I on track for NYU Stern (Or just college in general)?

hi, I’m a freshman in high school and I am thinking of going to a business college such as in Boston University or NYU Stern. I plan to continue with these ECs. In terms of ECs, it this not enough? A senior at my school started DECA just last year but it’s not very big, should I join next year?
so far:

  • Model UN
  • Varsity Tennis
  • Investment Society
  • Key Club
  • Guitar (3 years)
  • Chinese School (6 years)
What other kinds of ECs should I do or look good?

Try to get leadership positions Junior/Senior year.

or leadership opportunities at your Chinese school…working with little kids, etc.
I would add some community service/volunteering (or does Key CLub do that?)

Don’t do stuff because it looks good, do it because you are interested in it.

If you have a local junior achievement program it is something you might enjoy. My daughter did a free one week summer day camp with JA and really liked it and had fun meeting high schoolers from all over the area. It isn’t done through the high school (at least here) but is a program that anyone who can get to the location can sign up for. When my daughter did it through our local JA, it was at Northeastern University which she could commute to by public transportation. They also offered an afterschool program one day a week which my daughter did not do. She thought it was too much on school days with the commute.
