extracurriculars at city college of sf

does anyone have any suggestions to what extracurriculars (teams, clubs...) i should do at city college to better my chances in getting into a UC?

are you kidding? do what you find fun lol do you want people to make a random list for you?

and also, stop making seperate threads lol you only need one = )

sry, ill stop making seperate threads. But i remember in high school, ppl say colleges view more prestiege clubs as more significant. Just wonderin if this applys to CC too...

I think clubs overall are overrated. The thing is: Every school has clubs, about every type of thing, and it'll be very difficult to get into a leadership position the first year, and on top of that a lot of clubs on college campuses do ONLY volunteer work (which is good, but will not really set you apart from anyone else since everyone has hundreds of hrs of volunteer). Do something that is unique in addition to clubs. I am willing to bet that it will help you out a lot more than being in the Math Club, Computer Clubs, Religion Club, Race Club, etc. I am actually only in 1 club at my college, a religious club.

start ur own....thats a lot more impressive than just being a member.

I did a lot of extra curriculars during jc, but none of them were clubs. Find stuff that you're interested in instead of trying to do stuff just to pad your resume.

I personally find most clubs which say they have a specific mission "To Improve the World" "To Educate You About Something" "To Provide You With Opportunities" to be full of BS. I said most, not all. I found that a lot of the people that go to them, are the people who are just padding their resume.

Interesting Activity > Clubs totally. If you end up also applying to some privates and there's an interview, you can show them you're true motivations and passions through activites rather than saying what you as a member of a club did.
