Extracurriculars for ILR

I’m planning on applying ED for ILR and I’ve noticed that even their website stresses the importance of extracurricular activities such as MUN, Mock Trial, and FBLA. I haven’t done any of these activities; I’m more interested in the Labor Economics/Human Resources aspect rather than pre-law/public policy of ILR so my extracurriculars are geared more towards business/econ as well as sports and service/honor clubs. Will this affect my admission chances for ILR? Am I better off applying to CAS Econ? Honestly, I am in love with ILR but if my qualifications are more suited for CAS I will not mind applying there either.
Has anyone on here been accepted to ILR without having participated in any of these extracurriculars? What do you guys think? Thanks so much!!

I think if you just stress in your essays the fact that you’re interested in labor economics and explain how your ECs tie in with that and talk about why ILR is the best fit for you, you should be fine!

D was accepted very early, January or February, into ILR. She had great grades, SAT’s and SAT II’s. But her extracurricular activities were across the board. She was a cheerleader, captain of dance team, band, newspaper section editor, founder and captain of debate club, and a few other activities. But she made a case for how these made her an excellent candidate for ILR.

She also stated that she enjoyed many elective classes in her senior year that related to ILR classes. IOW, she made her case. She really wanted to be accepted by ILR and convinced them that she was a great candidate.
