Extracurriculars for law school application?

What are the kinds of extracurricular activities, if any, that law schools value in applicants? Thanks for your input.

You might try doing a search. There are probably a dozen --if not more–threads on this subject.

Bottom Line: ECs don’t matter all that much. They do count SOME, but are much less important than LSAT and gpa. Some law schools count them more than others. Basically, as long as you have SOME ECs you’ll be fine, except at Yale and/or Stanford, which seem to choose among the applicants with very high GPAs and LSATs based on ECs and other soft factors.

There really aren’t any ECs law schools prefer. Do what you enjoy and excel in it if possible.

But, EC’s can come into play when being considered for scholarships once you are in. Some are awarded for demonstrated leadership or community service. Look at the schools you are considering and review their scholarship information.
