I recently bought the book acing the college application. I began to compile an activity list. I realized that many of my activities were church based: church cabinet and church praise team. Can i list those on my activity list? Will it be looked down upon because it is "religious"? and my church isn't that big, do i say that? I know my activities aren't unimportant, but they look so trivial in those lil charts. What can and can't you list on the activity list?

Most colleges prefer applicants that focus and devote most of their time to ONE activity rather than superficially participating in many. You should be fine, especially if you incorporate it into your essay.

There isn't a separation of church and college (except religiously affiliated colleges), so your activities will not be "looked down upon." :)

Definitely. It shows you're spiritual and ethical and stuff - hopefully.

Also, don't say your church is small. It's like saying "I founded a club at school, but there's only one other member - my best friend." Now why would you want to say that?
